Anniversary Gold Clock

This Clock is ideal as a golden wedding anniversary gift personalised with the couple's name

Heraldic crests were created to identify the person wearing the armour and were used  as a design on a shield or tabard which is why it is often called coat armour.   The coat of arms were created for individual families and was made up of a shield, crest and motto, the design was unique to the person and their family name.   Originally these coat of arms were reserved for Lords and Knights as each knight chose the symbols and colours to represent their family or clan but over time other people developed crests for their familes and by the mid 13th century all social classes including commoners had developed their own heraldic crest.

Nowadays we no longer require coat of arms or heraldic crests to use for armour but as most familys created a coat of arms it is a lovely way to keep in touch with your ancestry.

We have access to a database of the crests of over 1 million surnames and can source the earliest coat of arms available which we can then use to engrave onto your glassware for you to produce a truly personalised gift. For more info visit www.glass-creations.co.uk

Mother’s Day is a celebration honoring mothers and celebrating motherhood, maternal bonds, and the influence of mothers in society.

Why is Mothering Sunday on different dates each year?

Mothering Sunday is not a fixed day because it is always the middle Sunday in Lent (which lasts from Ash Wednesday to the day before Easter Sunday). This means that Mother’s Day in the UK will fall on different dates each year and sometimes even fall in different months.

20120226-070025 PM.jpg

Mothering Sunday has been celebrated in the UK on the fourth Sunday in Lent since at least the 16th century.

What happens on Mothering Sunday in the UK?

Mothering Sunday is a time when children pay respect to their Mothers. Children often give their Mothers a gift and a card.

Is Golf your game?

Do you play Golf, there are millions of people playing Golf all over the world, it was first played in the 15th century in Scotland.

The counties that play golf the most and have the largest amount of Golf course are Scotland, New Zealand, Australia, Republic of Ireland, Northern Ireland, Canada, Wales, United States, Sweden, and England which other than Sweden are all English speaking!

I watch the Ryder Cup and the Open on the TV and i’m glued to it the excitement as players get near to potting at the last hole.

Golf competition is generally played for the lowest number of strokes by an individual, known simply as stroke play, or the lowest score on the most individual holes during a complete round by an individual or team, known as match play.

Do you run a Golf competition yourself or does your husband or father play?
